GLASS JEW

Feature Film | 90 minutes | Sara Neuman

In 1936 Sosnowiec, young Romek Rozenberg defends his brother from anti-Semitic
taunts, setting the stage for a life defined by conflict and resilience. As World War II
ravages Europe, Romek endures the horrors of the Holocaust, losing his family and
identity. Post-war, he finds refuge in England, where boxing becomes his outlet for
survival and self-discovery. Despite the challenges of being a Jewish boxer in
Germany, Romek rises through the ranks, haunted by his past and the expectations
of others. His journey takes him to Israel and New York, where he confronts his
fears and embraces his heritage. Along the way, Romek rekindles a lost love and
learns to balance his inner demons with the demands of the ring. Ultimately, he
returns to Germany, where he reclaims his identity and becomes a champion,
proving that true strength lies in embracing one’s vulnerabilities.
