MAKING MONEY

SYNOPSIS

His genius was real – His money wasn’t.

In the vibrant backdrop of the early 80s, Massimiliano ‘Max’ Rossi, a talented yet unconfident photographer, navigates the humdrum life of industrial Luxembourg.

Facing financial struggles after his father’s death, Max’s desperation leads him to dabble in counterfeiting. With his mother Teresa oblivious to her son’s escapades, he delves into a risky world of fake money, caught between his unrequited love for his friend Paulette and the resentful eye of Officer René.

Max’s journey takes him from a small Luxembourgish town to the excesses of New York’s Wall Street, where he finds success but also peril. Caught in a web of deceit, Max’s ultimate downfall and redemption involve a transcontinental chase, a daring confrontation, and unexpected alliances.

As Max serves his time and returns home, he finds solace in the familiarity of his hometown, reunited with Paulette and his mother but haunted by the specter of his past.

Yet, as life settles into a semblance of normalcy, an unexpected opportunity arises, promising new beginnings and reminding Max that his ingenuity has not gone unnoticed.
